Laughter in the Dark

If there is one thing I like about being back it is my paints, brushes, inks, my scanner, tablet and my computer~  Now I’ll slowly scan and post my other sketches, so look forward to that! I had to make Laughter a digitally composed background due to some non-waterproof pens.


And I should probably start sketching characters that are going to show up in less than maybe 200 pages into the story….

That Comic I Used to Draw

I've been drawn back to that old thing like a little bit of iron towards a magnet these past few months. I'm seriously considering resurrecting the poor corpse when I get back home...

 And in the mean time, here's a little something to prove that I am in fact not a corpse, yet

 This is a creature known by others as Laughter, an ethereal being shrouded in mystery, living outside of the Shindran society as a public secret. Well not alone though, Laughter leads a band of other wilder beings whom are collectively known as Shadow's Laughter, their wild ways are unnerving to those who hold power in the Shindran realms, but occasionally the goals of these opposing forces align and Shadow's Laughter aids the organised society, with a price of course.

 Sorry, I started rambling... I need to decide whether or not I should ink it, and if not ink, then what...

Yet another draconian doodle

Yet another character from the world of That Comic I Used to Draw. Keeper of the Cold Light, Hawkslayer, Spearstealer and quite the troublemaker. And before anyone thinks my story is about darkness fighting with light, I can assure you these guys never even met. Six Spears is from the ancient past, and Lightless Flame is from the present.

 He is also of the more Draconian kind of my faerieish species of critters that inhabit the world. I could ramble endlessly about the nature of my creatures but I doubt it would interest anyone... I'm just happy to have returned home~

School's Out!

Oh look! I post art for a change :0
 School kept me busy. Now it is over, so I will hopefully draw every now and again. This was supposed to be just a test for the extra tasty silver-colour I bought from Nara (in the upper right corner), but things got out of hand.
 This baby is a character from that comic I used to draw, haven't drawn him in years... I missed you so, Keeper of The Lightless Flame, Sleeper in the Dark and Lord of All Things Black Metal. But fear not friends, even if I'd start drawing the comic again today and would draw a page per week it would still take me ten years to get anywhere near this darling -____-

Looking back

 First my apologies for the prolonged silence in the blog, school has indeed kept me quite busy in the past few months. But apart from that, I feel like this has been the best art year I've had since I graduated Hyvinkään Taidekoulu! I mean look at all these bootsies:

I wish to thank everyone who has been a part of my life this year, and I hope next year will also be prosperous to us all!

Cats and elves. Mixed up

 Very unsurprisingly, once school started properly I've had less and less time for drawing in between all the grammar, kanji and sightseeing. But still, I've managed to ponder upon the physiology of cat-elves on a few occasions. 

...and architecture. 

I suck at perspective, especially freehand perspective, but I sure love traditional Japanese architecture.

Sketching~

 Pens, markers and brush pens are so ridiculously cheap here in Japan that I can't even. At all.

 Well, I've been drawing and buying tons of them though... My lectures haven't started yet so I've had lot of time for reading manga and then, inspired by the tasty arts, doodle.
